Rennie Jackson
The Jackson, Ala. native began his musical career during his teenage years, singing and writing songs and eventually learning the way around the strings of bass guitar. It was something he always aspired to play. Limelight by Rush was the first song he learned how to play, which comes as no surprise with his passion for the great rock classics. But he has no favorite genre; he’s just a “sucker” for a good song with “flavor.” He’s a reluctant owner of over 4,000 CDs and albums.
Today, the musician is part of Shiny Machine, a local blues-country rock, funk Americana band after meeting fellow member, Rob Nolan. The group performs at bars and venues all along the south. They released their self-titled debut album in 2012. When he isn’t writing and performing, Jackson spends time with his two sons, Lucas and Rhett.
