Elliott, totally agree as far as the red-tape issues keeping people from coming back. Like you said, shortly after the storm, officials said the “right” things, just hoping they can deliver on those promises.
Alberta is a shame. It’s devastating to drive out there and see literally blocks of rubble in a place so close to UA. It’s hard to open the Crimson White or Tuscaloosa News and read about the bickering between some of the city officials about what to do with the riverfront development and the issues that arise from student housing/retail (which I can see some concern maybe about encroaching even more on the last remaining natural wilderness in the city) when these issues are still ever-present and of immediate concern.
